My Life

My name is Hader and I am 25 years old. I was born on the 9th of December in 1983 in Sharjah where I grew up. Now I live with my parents in Abu Dhabi. My family consists of six brothers and two sisters and I am the third of 8 siblings.

I started my education when I was five years old as most students do when they begin school. In the past the ideal age to enter any school was five years old and above compared to the rule nowadays which are they do not accept you unless you enter a kindergarten first. After two years, the kindergarten will transfer you to a primary school. In the beginning, I hated school because I was not used to waking up in the early morning. However, after a few days I started to like it because I found a different life and I began to make new friends. Most of those friends remained my class mates until I went to preparatory school.

In 1995 my father got a job in Abu Dhabi. He waited for us until the mid-year holiday and then we moved to Abu Dhabi. In the beginning, I faced some difficulties in transportation and dealing with new friends. However, three years later, instead of going to secondary school, I decided to go to ADNOC Technical Institute (ATI) because they offered good opportunities. I was admitted in the ATI and I studied there three years. The first year was to develop my English language skills. In the next two years, I studied my major, which was mechanical.

After I graduated from the ATI, I was employed in Gasco as a mechanical technician. Before putting me in charge, the company gave me a program to finish because I did not have any experience. Two years later I finished my program, and I got married in the same year because I wanted to be father and I became one after being married one year. My happiness was limitless because I became a father and responsible for my family. After two years, my wife and I had our second boy.

Now the company has given me an opportunity to pursue higher studies. I am in the second semester of a higher diploma program at the ADMC and I hope to become a mechanical engineer in the future to serve the company which gave me this great opportunity chance.
